Today’s release includes the following updates:

bugfix

  • Fixed an issue where filtering the Data Integration fax list by an inbound number that starts with a + showed no faxes. A number saved both with and without the + also appeared twice in the dropdown, and neither entry showed all of its faxes. Each number now appears once, and selecting it shows all of its faxes.
  • Fixed an issue where a command added to a note by a plugin could look empty until the page was refreshed, when another plugin filled in its fields as it was added. The filled-in fields now show right away.

config

  • A new Patient App setting in Settings, PATIENT_PORTAL_REQUISITION_ORDER_STATES, chooses which lab and imaging orders a patient can download the requisition for in the patient portal: open orders only (the default), or open and completed orders. Patients reach these requisitions through a link a plugin provides; see Link to Lab and Imaging Requisitions.
  • Users can register and manage OAuth applications without a developer role through a group with the Can register and manage OAuth applications permission. Reach out to Canvas support to set up the group, then add staff to it in Staff Permissions. Users with the Administrative Developer or Clinical Developer role keep their current access. See Customer Authentication.

sdk

  • Plugins can fax a single referral, imaging order, lab order, or letter with the new fax effects: FaxReferralEffect, FaxImagingOrderEffect, FaxLabOrderEffect, and FaxLetterEffect.
    • Each fax sends the same PDF as the document’s built-in Fax action and appears in its Fax Event History.
    • Without a recipient, a referral goes to its service provider and an imaging order to its imaging center, when that provider has a fax number on file. A lab order or letter needs a recipient.
  • Plugins can link a patient to the requisition for their own lab or imaging order in the patient portal. The lab requisition is the form clinicians print, or the Health Gorilla form for an order sent electronically, and the imaging requisition is the “Prepare for your imaging test” letter.

api

  • The FHIR Claim Search endpoint supports the created parameter, which filters by the date of service of the claim’s note. Integrations that sync claims can request only claims in a date range, such as created=ge2026-10-01. See Date Filtering.
